Steven was born in Milbrae, California in 1957. Both parents were practicing artists who nutured Steven's love of drawing and painting from an early age.  Formal education of both commercial and fine art began in 1975 concluding in 1982 with a BFA in Visual Communication via California State University, Long Beach.

     From 1988 to 2003 Steven owned and operated the Curry Design Agency based in Santa Monica, California. CDA hosted many prestigious clients such as Nissan North America, Sony Pictures, and the Academy Awards to name a few. Three separate graphic pieces created by CDA were selected to be archived in the collection of the United States of America Library of Congress.

    In spite of CDA's success, Steven always felt driven to return to his greatest artistic passion.  After 15 years of commercial work, Steven left his graphic design business in order to again fully immerse himself in art by way of brush, oil and canvas. He chose Ojai, California, a place of exquisite natural beauty, to both make his home and inspire his paintings.
